The college offers B.A and B.com courses and the students have elective options in B.A. Those students who are interested to study literature and language and has keep bent of mind to know about society can opt Kannada, Sanskrit and Sociology combination. Students who are interested in History, Economics and Political science can opt HEP combination. In B.com course students study the compulsory subjects prescribed by the university.
A student of K.S.S combination can continue his or her post-graduation in Sanskrit at the same campus. Several B.A. students have become teachers in schools and colleges, they can also become script writers for T.V programmes, announcers in radios, some of them have pursue higher studies like L.L.B., M.Sc. Yoga, M.S.W., M.B.A., B.Ed., journalism. Course contents help the students to face competitive examinations and a lot of students have secured jobs in postal, railway departments, banks, Indian Army, private companies and also in various state government departments. The students of Political Science can also become a good politician. Learning language and literature lends clarity to speech and expression besides it imparts values to make youth confident and dignified members of society. Students’ communication skill also improves.
B.com. course has the specific outcome of imparting the requisite knowledge to become accountants, consultants of income tax or GST, financial analysts, cost accountants etc. The program provides ample knowledge about banking international trade, Indian financial system, functioning of management, ISO, ISI etc. The course lends basic knowledge of capital structure and working capital management. So far the 25 students have become charted accountants, 20 of them are employed in banks and many of them are working in prestigious companies holding responsible portfolios. One of them is running an institute in Bangalore(CAPS)where coaching is given for students aspiring C.A. About 50 students have taken up M.com./M.B.A., L.L.B. courses. There are successful self-employed students also besides making the learners employable, the courses offered in the college lead to an overall development in their personality. They also inculcate problem solving, crisis management and analytical skills. The involvement of students of both B.A and B.com-develop interest in social service and get an opportunity to know the pulse of society. The attainment of success by the first generation learner after B.A./ B.Com course is an inspiration for family members or neighbours. The rate of dropout is very rare and the college has a very good/excellent pass percentage. Since the programme outcome itself is laudable-the institution does not seek mode of advertisement to attract students. Every outgoing student is a member of alumni association of the college. Alumni association meeting is held every year. This provides an opportunity for the college to interact with the former students and to assess the course outcome.
